Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how AnchorShell handles information when you use our websites, hosted services, accounts, communications, and related products.

It does not govern data processed solely inside a self-hosted AnchorShell Relay Community Edition deployment unless that deployment separately connects to an AnchorShell-operated service.

Information we collect

Information you provide

We may collect information you provide directly, including:

• Name and email address
• Company, role, and use case
• Account and organization information
• Team invitations and membership information
• Support requests and other messages
• Marketing preferences
• Information submitted through forms or communications with AnchorShell

Account and service information

When you use hosted AnchorShell services, we may process information such as:

• Account and session information
• API-key identifiers and related access information
• Organization, team, and permission information
• Provider and model configuration
• Usage, token, cost, limit, and billing information
• Request logs, errors, and operational events
• IP address, browser, device, and security information

AI requests and provider data

When you send requests through hosted AnchorShell Relay, we process the request and related metadata as needed to provide the service.

Depending on your configuration and enabled features, this may include:

• Prompts
• Model responses
• Model and provider selections
• Token usage
• Timing information
• Errors
• Request metadata

Relay may transmit request content to the model provider or service selected by your configuration or routing rules.

Those providers may process information under their own terms, privacy policies, or agreements with you.

You are responsible for choosing providers that are appropriate for the data you submit.

Billing information

If you purchase a paid service, payment information may be collected and processed by our payment provider.

AnchorShell may receive information such as:

• Subscription status
• Transaction information
• Billing history
• Payment status
• Limited payment-related details

AnchorShell does not need to receive your full payment-card number when payment is processed by the payment provider.

Website analytics

Our AnchorShell-operated OpenPanel deployment may collect:

• Page URLs
• Referrers
• Timestamps
• Browser information
• Operating-system information
• Device type
• Outbound-link interactions
• Approximate location derived from the request IP address

Our current website analytics configuration does not use session replay, identified analytics profiles, or persistent analytics cookies.

How we use information

We may use information to:

• Provide and operate AnchorShell
• Create and secure accounts
• Authenticate users and API requests
• Provide routing, usage, logging, billing, and other Relay functionality
• Manage organizations, teams, and permissions
• Process payments and subscriptions
• Respond to support requests
• Communicate about accounts, security, and service changes
• Send product or marketing communications where permitted
• Understand and improve our products and website
• Detect abuse, fraud, and security threats
• Troubleshoot and maintain our services
• Comply with legal obligations

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on appropriate legal bases such as performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.

How we share information

AnchorShell does not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

We may disclose information to service providers that process information on our behalf to operate AnchorShell, including providers of:

• Cloud hosting and infrastructure
• Email delivery
• Payment processing
• Analytics
• Monitoring and security
• Customer support
• Other technical services

These providers may use information only as needed to provide services to AnchorShell and subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

We may also disclose information:

• When required by law or legal process
• To protect AnchorShell, our users, or others
• To investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• As part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business

AnchorShell does not use customer prompts or model responses to train our models or third-party models on AnchorShell's behalf.

Model providers and connected services

When you configure Relay to use a model provider or connected service, AnchorShell may send the information necessary to complete your request to that provider.

The provider's handling of that information is governed by your relationship with that provider and its applicable terms and privacy practices.

You are responsible for choosing providers that are appropriate for the information you submit.

Self-hosted Relay

AnchorShell Relay Community Edition can run on infrastructure you control.

AnchorShell does not receive information from a self-hosted deployment solely because you run the software.

This Privacy Policy applies if you separately:

• Use an AnchorShell-operated website or service
• Contact AnchorShell
• Enable an AnchorShell-operated integration
• Use a hosted AnchorShell feature
• Otherwise send information to AnchorShell

Cookies and local storage

The hosted AnchorShell application may use cookies or similar browser storage that are necessary for:

• Authentication
• Session management
• Security
• User preferences
• Operation of the service

Our website analytics configuration currently does not require persistent analytics cookies.

Browser settings and content-blocking tools may prevent some analytics requests.

Email and communications

We may send transactional messages required to operate your account, including:

• Email verification
• Password resets
• Security notifications
• Team invitations
• Billing communications
• Service-related notices

We may also send product or marketing communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law.

You can unsubscribe from marketing messages using the unsubscribe mechanism in the message or by contacting us.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary account, security, billing, or transactional communications.

Data retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Retention may depend on the type of information and may include the period necessary to:

• Maintain an active account
• Provide the service
• Maintain security and audit records
• Resolve support requests
• Meet accounting, tax, contractual, or legal obligations
• Prevent fraud or abuse
• Establish or defend legal claims

When information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete or anonymize it.

Some customer-controlled service data may have separate retention settings or terms.

International processing

AnchorShell and our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.

Where required, we use appropriate contractual, organizational, or legal safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

No service or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Request portability of certain information
• Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent
• Complain to an applicable privacy authority

You may also be able to:

• Update certain account information through AnchorShell
• Manage marketing preferences
• Revoke API keys
• Revoke active sessions
• Close your account where supported

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Some information may be retained where necessary for security, legal, billing, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.

Customer organizations

If you use AnchorShell through an employer, customer, or other organization, that organization may control information associated with its workspace, including:

• Your membership
• Your permissions
• API keys
• Usage visibility
• Account access
• Team settings

Where AnchorShell processes information on behalf of a business customer, that customer's agreement with AnchorShell and privacy practices may also apply.

Children's privacy

AnchorShell is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our services.

If we learn that personal information was collected from a child in circumstances where it should not have been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as AnchorShell, our services, or applicable requirements change.

We will update the date at the top of this Privacy Policy when changes are made.

If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
